A bell which would have been attached to the collar of a small animal to inform the owner of animal position. A percussion instrument.

Description: Cup shaped; hollow metal vessel with outward flared rim and a clapper on the inside; rectangular shaped crown
History of Use: A simple sound making device.  Its form is a hollow, cup shaped resonator which vibrates upon being struck.  The striking implement can be a tongue suspended within the bell known as a clapper or hammer.
