Narrative: C. Gates and Co., Limited began in Victoria Vale in 1840, moved to Gate's Avenue in Middleton circa 1900 and continued until about 1949. Last owned by Fairfield Woodbury in the 1940's. 
Description: On red and white card stock an advertisement for arthritis relief. On the top half of the ad there is a rectangle outlined in red and black that says "Arthritis Relieved" at the top and has a write up about a woman named Leslie Armstrong who had a positive experience with this product. At the bottom of the card stock it says "Gate's Life of Man Bitter's" in white on a red background. Under this is a write up about the product and it's size and price. MG100 Vol.88 #39
History of Use: Old Kings Courthouse Museum deaccessioned these items before passing them along to us. Accession number used to be P-988-15-4. Donated to Courthouse Museum by William K. Ryan, Cambridge Stn, NS. March 1988
