Narrative: Joe MacLellan, was born in Pleasant Valley, the son of the late Donald and Amelia (Baxter) MacLellan.  He was a retired carpenter and farmer.  He married Margaret MacDonald, who died at a young age leaving Joe with nine children to raise.  In later life, Joe became reclusive and was befriended by local photographer Bob Gourley, who captured photos of the man in his declining years.  Joe lived a simple life without modern conveniences such as electricity and running water.
