Narrative: This cow bell came from the home of Effie and John Morrison, Middle Ridge, Cape Breton, N.S.  The lead cow wore this as a means to find the herd, if necessary and as a way to guide the other cows to the lead cow.

Inscribed on both sides of cowbell.
History of Use: Cow bell was used for the lead cow to alert the rest of the herd to follow as they searched for  food. It was also used to find the herd in the woods.
