Description: 2 pieces of Grapeshot, one is larger than the other. The Grapeshot is from the French Warship Chemeau (Shmoo) carrying over 185 passengers among them the son of the Sovernot of Montreal and the new "Intendant" of French Canada and about 4 millions in silver coinage for Louisbourg struck a submerged rock several miles outside of Louisbourg harbour and sank, all perished. This grapeshot was recovered at approx. a depth of 80 ft. Also recovered was some bird shot, cannonballs, cannon and silver coins.
