This is an early type of skate manufactured by the Starr Manufacturing company in Dartmouth, prior to the invention of the spring or "Acme" skate which made the company famous.
Description: Pair of wooden top skates with leather straps made of birds eye maple, blade made by Starr Manufacturing, metal screw in heel and 2 metal points allowed the wearer some purchase while skating, 15 round holes in blade
