Narrative: C. Gates, Son and Co. Limited began in Victoria vale in 1840, moved to Gates Avenue in Middleton circa 1900 and continued until 1949. Last owned by Fairfield Woodbury in the 1940's. 
Description: On faded off-white paper, four horizontal black outlined boxes are displayed in a comic book like format. Each of the four boxes contain an advertisement for Empire Liniment. On the very top of the first box it says "Empire Liniment for Internal and External Use!" in bold black lettering. On the right side, going vertically sideways along the edge of the boxes reads "Address all order to C.Gates, Son and CO., Middleton, NS". The back is plain and off-white in color. MG100 Vol.88 #52
History of Use: Old Kings Courthouse Museum deaccessioned these items before passing them along to us. Accession number used to be P-988-15-6. Donated to Courthouse Museum by William K. Ryan, Cambridge Stn. NS. March 1988.
