Narrative: C.Gates and Co.,Limited began in Victoria Vale in 1840, moved to Gates Avenue in Middleton circa 1900 and continued until about 1949. Last owned by Fairfield Woodbury in the 1940's. 
Description: On orange and white card stock, an advertisement for Kidney trouble. On the top half of the ad there is a rectangle outlined in orange and black that says "For Kidney Trouble" at the top and has a write up about a woman named Freida Grolla who had a positive experience with this product. At the bottom of the card stock it says "Gate's Life of Man Bitter's" in white on an orange background. Under this is a write-up about the product, it's size and price. MG100 Vol.88 #38
History of Use: Old Kings Courthouse Museum deaccessioned these items before passing them along to us. Accession number used to be P.988-15-5. Donated to Courthouse Museum by William K. Ryan, Cambridge Stn.,NS. March 1988.
