Description: Mi'kmaq quillwork box sharply oval; coloured with aniline dyes; box is decorated with chevron and diamond pattern using white, black, yellow and grey quills, edged with sp.root., over sewn with sp. root, lined with birch bark; lid is decorated with two yellow fylfot designs (modified swastikas) on circular purple ground, white background, overlay quilling; rim is medium-brown woven material with white decoration; sides of lid wrapped with sp. root dyed black, interwoven white quills in chequered designs; lined with birch bark.
